Diversity & Inclusion for Tourism SMEs

Tourism in Europe is evolving rapidly. More diverse visitors, new expectations, and higher standards for accessibility. How do you respond as a tourism SME?


Within the framework of the INSPIRES project, and in collaboration with AccessibleEU and ENAT, we are pleased to invite you to the Tourism Lab on Diversity & Inclusion.


This webinar aims to strengthen the capacity of tourism businesses across Europe by integrating inclusive and accessible practices, in line with the Transition Pathway for Tourism. It brings together practical insights, tools and exchange to help you move forward.

  • Discover practical actions you can take to become more inclusive
  • Explore how this can strengthen your offer and support year-round tourism

  • Keynote: Intersectionality Matters in Inclusive Tourism - Ivor Ambrose, ENAT

Participants are invited to join one of the following thematic sessions:

  • Accessibility- Magnus Berglund, Accessibility Business

    How to communicate about physical environments and facilities to create accessible, welcoming experiences for diverse user groups, helping you attract more visitors and grow your business.

  • Warm Welcome for Customers - Kathleen Smolders, Inter
     How to welcome diverse customers in an inclusive way. With practical approaches to service and interaction to confidently engage with people with disabilities and diverse visitor groups.
  • Inclusive Tourism Experience & Products - Kathleen Polders, Inter & Alexandra Verdeil, Tactile Studio                                                                                                                           How to design more inclusive tourism experiences, with inspiration and practical tools (e.g. the Experience Matrix by Inter, alongside examples and case studies presented by Tactile Studio) to better respond to the needs of diverse visitor groups and contribute to year-round tourism
  • Promotion & Representation - Liesbet de Wit, Province of Antwerp
    How to ensure more inclusive and diverse representation in promotion and communication, and reach a broader audience.

    • English sign language interpretation provided
    • Participants will receive a confirmation-email and a calendar-invite after registration.
    • Participants will receive the practical information (e.g. access links and final details) on Friday 19 June.  
    • Participants will receive a follow-up email within two weeks after the session, including: 
        • links to the session recordings 
        • a short questionnaire 
        • The online training modules.

     

    All sessions will be recorded and shared after the event. To ensure high-quality recordings, participants are asked to keep cameras and microphones off during the sessions. Questions can be asked via the chat.


    This Tourism lab is obligatory to follow for all Inspires Voucher partners.
