The INSPIRES Second Open Call for Collaborative Projects (2 March 2026 – 11 May 2026) has been successfully concluded. The Second Call was launched as a targeted call under the PIONEER category, with the aim of further supporting tourism SMEs in their green and digital transition.
A total of 35 proposals were submitted by tourism SMEs from Belgium, Finland, Germany and Poland, demonstrating continued strong interest in collaborative innovation for a more sustainable, digital and resilient tourism sector.
Following the administrative eligibility checks and quality evaluation, 13 collaborative projects have been selected for funding under the PIONEER category.
The selected projects address key transformation priorities for tourism SMEs, including digital storytelling, accessible tourism, AI-supported visitor services, smart energy management, carbon transparency, sustainable mobility, regenerative tourism and responsible travel solutions.

INSPIRES now continues with the implementation of the newly selected collaborative projects, supporting tourism SMEs across Europe in strengthening their resilience, sustainability and digitalization capacities.
